Today, we live in a culture where there are so many promises from family, friends, government, athletes, oranges, hats, red t-shirts, steroids, etc. Being able to decipher the difference between somebody who is bluffing and buff is a challenge in itself, but actually expressing to somebody stating 'you have bluffed' or 'you're too buff' is a challenge in itself. What I am trying to bring together is when the revolution starts in your mind. Whether there is a revolution of saving pennies or the revolution of making the best apple pie, we all know have gone through some of the toughest struggles. Let me give you a push to let you know that you are somebody and even if you want to, you can wear that red t-shirt ANY day:

-You remember that time when you were on the ground, going from place to place trying to get that stuffed animal or your pacifier? Now, as a baby, you may not have expressed your frustrations as you do today, but you did have the ability to think. When you did used your brain, you noticed how the 'big people' around stood on their hind legs and were able to get their animals and pacifiers faster. Now with all of your might and focus, you stood on those two bowlegged limbs of yours and made sure nobody else laid a hand on your pacifier. You told yourself that you were going to walk anywhere, and guess what, YOU DID. So, the revolution of walking is over.

-Not good enough for you? Let's talk about the first time you were potty trained. This was probably the first revolution where you had to face an object, and let me tell you, from the memories I have, this object was no Mickey. However, you knew you had to sit on the hole because holding your feces is not fun, especially once you realize the substance on your bottom is not an instant seat warmer. In this moment, you are in a dilemma - should you close the door and have a moment with Mr. Toilet or do you continue to hold breakfast, lunch, snack time, and dinner in your pants? 'Fuck it' you say and go into the dungeon. You sit down and the first thing you say 'oooo, kind of chilly.' That's only a minor speed bump to the feeling of, well let me not go into detail about how that was probably the greatest trip to the bathroom ever. After you are done, you walk out with your arms in the air saying 'I did it! I did it.' Now you know why everybody leaves the bathroom smiling. Another revolution complete.

These are only two of the many revolutions we face everyday. What I'm basically trying to get out of this entry is to note we all have our word. Our word is the one thing we truly possess and nobody can take that away expect yourself. Broken promises are one thing that really hurts and as a human being, I am guilty too. As a more conscious nation, we can all emerge in the revolution of life and make an effort to always keep our word. If we can not hold on to our word, we will not be able to do anything.

Peace
www.oscarp.com

The Brewers Are Serious!

In case you haven't noticed, the Milwaukee Brewers have some of the greatest you stars in the game. This is the holiday where my family surrounds me and I have no stress. I can bring my smile and flowers to my wonderful grandmother who spends all night making sure we have the best food! It is also a day unique specifically to America; symbolizing the uniting of two different cultures (Native Americans and Pilgrims) for a feast of giving thanks. Although the aftermath of this dinner did not translate into an united/equal America, it was a small step towards a powerful nation. Theses simple solutions can definitely make an impact on your life, especially through these hard times.

1. Eating Challenges - yeah, eating a lot of food does make appear to be a king but when that gut comes, you're going to wish you gave those cans of peas to your local food pantry.

2. The Wrong Woman - if you are just not feeling it and you'd rather not make her smile, it's time to move on.

3. Suffering - people, we are living. It is called life, bad things happen. When they do happen, fucking fix it!.

4. The "comments" section of a blog - I don't care if you have an opinion because I got mine.

5. The woman in any tabloid - she's not going to be your sugamama or pay for your student loans. She would rather look at herself in the mirror for about forever.

6. A third round of shots - you will look like this.

7. Hangovers - it is a whole day of doing nothing; that is 24 hours people.

8. Drama - if you watch soap operas, don't act like them. It's a waste of time, just understand people thrive on it and you can see them cry and whine all of the time.

9. Bad Remakes - originals are always king because they are the first.

10. Traffic - take the detour and continuously keep moving rather than looking over to your right in a traffic jam and watch the guy pick his nose.

11. Dragged out engagements - if you're going to get married, already have a time frame and make things happen. It'll make your guests happy which means better gifts.

12. The family bully - just because you were the last one to become potty trained does not mean you have to take it on your sister who would give her spare liver to anybody.

13. Low-def TV - have you ever seen high definition TV? AMAZING! It's like you can actually see that nostril hair of anybody.

14. Political arguments - people today do not know how to hold a correct argument. It always consist of two yelling at each other and showing a lack of respect by not hearing each other.

15. Meetings - we have technology (emails, instant messaging, etc), so lets just use it. Pretty simple.

16. Waiting for rewards - unless you're a dog, just go on to the next task.

Brandon Fucking Jennings

In case you don't know, I am from Milwaukee and Brandon Jennings will break your ankles. Couldn't wait to write about the rookie who scored 55 points against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. That shit was unbelievable. It honestly reminded of NBA Jam because he was unstoppable. He didn't even score any points in the first quarter. AMAZING.

On a serious note, Jennings is what the city of Milwaukee needs. The past 7 seasons have been unpleasant to watch and we wasted 90 million on Michael Redd who always seems to have something wrong with his but he sure does find time to play drums. I'll tell right now Daily Spitt readers to get on the band wagon because this will be a season to remember. 2009 is the year that needs to be flushed down the toilet and 2010 will be the year the Milwaukee Bucks will have cake for breakfast.

A lot of cats talked down Mr. Jennings because of the path he took in order to get into the NBA. Instead going to college after high school, he instead played for the Italian club Lottomatica Roma. What people do not understand is that college is not for everybody and Jennings is displaying his correct decision by continuing to show off his skills. If a person wants to make money after college overseas rather than stay in America and have no money, I say 'YOU BETTER MAKE THAT MONEY.'

In all, get your Brandon Jennings jersey right now!

Kid Sister x Flosstradamus on Jimmy Fallon

<embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/OjjXhKqAQsRmnWy3VqNxxw/2170" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" width="512" height="296">

Renaissance in Disguise

Growing up, I thought my best friend Derek was the coolest dude ever. We had way too much in common to not be best friends. We were both lefties. We both had asthma. Even though his name wasn't Justin, his older brother's was. So I would consider that a similarity. His mom and my mom were even friends in High School!

Derek would host these sleepovers at his house all the time. Our whole crew of friends would go over his house and we would max out on ice cream and Flammin' Hots all day! Sniper'/>

Should He Die?

The "D.C. Sniper" was a saga in America history, specifically within the D.C. area where people were scared to death to do anything outside. Tomorrow, John Allen Muhammad will be lethally ejected for taking in part in the D.C. sniper killing spree. John Allen Muhammad has been on two trials claiming his innocence but was unable to convince a jury to take his side. The whole dilemma is whether to kill a human being for his actions or shall we lock away prisoners for life with no chance of parole. This has always been a touchy subject for me because it is so hard because the pros and cons are fairly equally weighted, in my mind. People today often preach about saving money and spending 'our' tax dollars wisely. Economically, letting person go on to another life sooner than later will definitely save money but does it really save a soul? Very hard question to answer to those who really think about it. To other side of the argument, can a person truly change their life around even though they are surrounded by individuals who have done similar crimes. In some instances, yes (Malcolm X). However, to keep an inmate in prison costs about $25,000 per year. That's a lot of money and I know a lot of individuals that would want to earn that salary per year. In all, I am leaning more towards eliminating capital punishment to the simple fact I would not want live in a barbaric environment.

Oprah to LA

Oprah is moving her show from Chicago to LA in 2011. So!

Let's Come Together

Three current issues in which I feel America need to focus on is education, marijuana and bicycles. All three of these issues will definitely make America the country not to fuck with.

I like to think of our education system as an investment into our future. The more money put into our offspring, the better our country is going to be when we're senile and kicking cans. There should be well established programs to ignite the fire within the souls of our children. One program that needs to be implemented is year long school. With two weeks off here and there, the kids will be emerged in school so much, they will not know what to do but get an A in calculus. Also, it will prevent kids from getting in mischief in those summer months. Another program that needs to get into action is free education. Why does college have to be a fucking business? Why can't we work together and learn what we need to learn to get that J.O.B.? Real talk, college is not for everybody but for those who want to get into the rat race, put them in college. Those who want to fix cars and cheat people out of their mulah, put them in school for free. If money was not a priority in our lives, (i.e. credit card debt, college debt, owing the mafia) maybe we probably wouldn't be mean to everybody who mentions the word money. The mechanics wouldn't treat and cats in the rat race wouldn't spend more time in the mirror slicking back their hair than helping a brother out. So let's make things happen and root for year long school, it's an investment.

Next topic, marijuana. In the past, I have indulged in the drug and have enjoyed it but in the past year, it hasn't been much of a pleasure. Nonetheless, I do feel it is a drug that has more positives than negatives, like macaroni and cheese. When you think about it, not too many stoners rob a bank, steal a dog or have a sweatshop in their basement. But when you talk about meth heads, they do know how to steal a car. In order to be fair, marijuana does have side effect that I know is not good, that cough. Once you inhale and hold for a second, you do experience that cough and oooo weee, that shit hurts. However, it does "enhance" your mind. One last thing is to legalize it. Pretty simple, let the officers worry about something else, these small time dealers are only crowding the prisons and wasting our tax dollars.

Last topic, bicycles. We need to take better care of our bodies and become the ultimate fit nation. Stop being lazy, ride the bike to the corner store. It only benefits the neighborhood you live in. Once you ride a bike, you become fitter, you bring down the emissions level in your state, and support your local business. Damn, you've done three good deeds for your day, doesn't it feeeeeel good? In conjunction with my paragraph about education, it also puts our children onto the right path of taking care of their bodies. I do agree there are distances that maybe too far for bike riding but once you think about it, impossible is nothing. Forest Gump ran across the United States 3 times like it was nothing. Look what it got him, a beard. So ride the bike, put 3 layers on if you're in the midwest but don't give any excuses. Uni-Watch is an amazing commentary on new uniforms teams are wearing, logo changes, and floor layouts of the arenas. It is very opinionated, but insightful nonetheless. As much as I am a sports fan, I'm also into fashion and graphic art. For those of you who do not find please in watching professional sports, I dare you to not enjoy this.

Here is a link to this years 2009-10 NBA Uni-Watch.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thedailyspitt.blogspot.com/2009/10/damn-now-thats-ugly-uniform.html' title='Damn! This is time of the year where people let their germs roam free, directly affecting everybody around them. But with everybody working together, we can get through this. Some of these measures maybe extreme but we shall overcome.

First lets talk about those who are at high risk. Children under 5, pregnant women or man, and young adults are the people we should be looking out for. My solution is just to put each group in their separate warehouses, better known as being quarantined. Just include some activities for each group like for the children, give them some toys and a play pen. For the pregnant people, give them some pickles and stress balls, they will get through it. Finally for the youth adults, condemns, because we do have a limited supply of pickles since they are out of season, we need to keep amount of the pregnant people to a minimum. Together, we can get through this.

Now let's talk about some of the symptoms. Please beware, they might gross you out but life is a reality show. The first symptom I would like to discuss is the bluish and grayish skin. Either you have been messing around too much with 2000 Flushes or you are a walking zombie (yes, they are very gray). The next symptom is no tears when you cry. What I think about this is that you may have no soul or you are a vampire. One last symptom I would like to discuss is the feeling of being confused. Now with this, you have to try and remember if you smoked that herb of the Blueberry Yum-Yum. If you did, order some food from Jimmy John's, it's freaky fast.

In all, we should take all precautions by making sure we cover our mouths when we sneeze, washing hands after using the bathroom and by not believing the hype. Also, don't stick anything up the nose.

Peace
Listen to this mix

Damn I'm So Sore

Yeah, we all want to go to the gym and be in the best shape of our life. Going to the gym always leaves a superb feeling within the mind, body and soul. From the relentless cardio to the hardcore weightlifting, we all know we are making a change for the better. However, I have a dilemma with the gym (Oooh I'm about the Jerry Seinfield this shit): Let's first talk about the use of machines. If you are working out on machine, you should be allowed to only workout on one machine. There is no saving seats, this is not fucking elementary school. If I want to do some squats, I should be able too and not wait on 'Steroid Stan' to get his double fix.

I know you're big and all but I'm just trying to inhance my gluteus maximus.

The next thing I need to get off my amazing chest is the elliptical/treadmill. Most gyms have a 30 minute policy allowing other members to get their sweat on. But what really bothers me is when somebody knows you are in the zone and refuses to let you be. The individual then follows by asking 'how long are you going to be' and you reply 'I got about 5 minutes' but you REALLY want say 'can't you fucking read?' Since we all are civil and the individual's boyfriend is probably 'Steroid Stan,' I'll just let her be.
Last but not least is the dilemma with showering after the awesome workout. I don't know about you but I don't like being naked around random people. There always has to be a person just loves igniting conversion while being completely naked. Please note your birthday suit is yours to own and if somebody wants to see it, they must desire it. I don't desire balls in my face unless it is a medicine ball. Please use the towels.

In all, the gym is place we all should embrace. There are always negative things that surround us, however, the gym clearly has more benefits than detriments. The last time I checked Oakland and Jacksonville are not at the top of their divisions, and San Francisco is. They might be making a little bit more money than you. But guess what, you play for a team that does not have a legitimate reciever outside of tight-end, Vernon Davis. That means, you have a shot at being "THE MAN" and making the playoffs. If Crabtree proves to be a vital part of the Niner's, he'll be making that money he was lobbying for in the beginning of of his career. So Mike, play your part and catch some balls.

More coverage on Crabtree's signing can be found at ESPN.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thedailyspitt.blogspot.com/2009/10/michael-crabtree-finally-signs-thanks.html' title='Michael Crabtree finally signs! The controversy about this album is the amount of time it took to actually become a record. To be originally released on Dr. Dre's 'Aftermath' label and executive produced by Busta Rhymes, the target date was January 2006. However, since drama follows everybody and everything, the release date was delayed. From Dr. Dre claiming he didn't really want to continue Raekwon's project after vacationing to some beef about who the real executive producer will be (RZA vs Busta Rhymes), the album had to take a backseat. Nonetheless, the album was eventually released on Ice H2O/EMI. "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt.II" really something to listen to, even if you choose not to listen to rap, open your mind and learn something new from the chef.

We Have A Lift Off..

WE HAVE A PODCAST! Examples of these artist include T-Pain, Kanye West, and myself. I have made the conclusion once something is made into an iPhone app, it is played out. The iPhone is a great device and I love using it but letting the phone walk the dog is a little much. Maybe allowing the phone to cruise control a car is probably pushing it to the limit. Applications made on the iPhone is a very profitable venture if you know what you are doing but I do have to admit, I was more amazed by Roger & Zap (Computer Love) and Teddy Riley before T-Pain and the makers of the "I AM T-Pain" came out with an app. Now please give these artists credit before T-Pain puts on another top hat. Shall we?

Love,

Justin

When I think of culture, I think of...

...Culture Club. How are you doing? Today's topic is all about culture, but today I'm going to focus on the arts. You have to love the arts, one the few freedoms anybody can express. You have your paintings, sculptures, drawings, performing arts, etc. I want to focus more so on drawing, yes drawing permanently on the body. TATTOOS! In case you haven't noticed, tattoos are the norm now. From the soccer moms with a tattoos of dolphins on their necks to the kid down the street with stars everywhere, tattoos are here to stay. What got me so aroused is the recent tattoo from Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson (This one is for you Winny!).<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 384px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2vN3_HKbbQU/SsUqGW6xzEI/AAAAAAAAABs/04pB672YFco/s400/Stevenson.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5387758817938361410" />
This tattoo is the ultimate tribute to the five dollar bill. Yes, Mr. Stevenson has plenty of money and he probably has not seen a five dollar for a number of years but this tattoo says a lot. There is a picture of our 16th President, Mr. Abraham Lincoln. We've seen tattoos of Che Guevara, Mao Tse Tung, and I think Barack Obama, but "Honest Abe," this has to be the first publicly announced tattoo of the great president. I don't really know the exact reason why he got the tattoo but I'm guessing is that he just loves that song "I Got 5 On It" by Luniz. Whatever the reason, I totally support Mr. Stevenson. So what do you think of that "Love" tattoo on my neck? I'm serious.

So that tattoo that you've been waiting for, go and get it, but as a more conscious, mature generation, buy it with a bundle of fives, rather than that plastic card. HOLLA!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Obama,

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Well then we are twinsies! I first about the idea of Chicago hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics, while I was sitting in a woman's shoe store, waiting for my friend Georgia to purchase some stilletos, or some crap, in Madrid, Spain. There was an article in El Mundo about how Madrid was one of the front runners to host the 2016 Olympics. I smirked and thought, "Hmm, good for them. It will be cool to say I have been somewhere the Olympics will be held." As I continued to read the article, I did my best owl impression (eyes wide open, mouth wide open) when I found out, Chicago was also in the running for the same Olympics.

After arriving back to the United States, I did my best Daley impression when having discussions about the Olympic Bid. It will be a huge boost for the economy, create thousands of jobs, and will transform Chicago into the World Class City it deserves to be. Now the vote is one day away and I just want to tell you that I was wrong. Please think twice before you support Chicago's 2016 Olympic Bid.

The residents of Chicago have spoken and they do not want the Olympics. Give them to Rio. Brazil is DOPE!!! The Olympic Committe has made it very clear that the games will be privately funded. What if they can't afford it (which they most likely can't)? Then the tax burden is placed on Chicagoans. On top of that where will residents of the Southside live when Olympic housing and stadiums are built over their land? Once the games are over, what happens to the all of the housing and stadiums? Oh, you're going to build condos? Who has money to buy a condo on the Southside?!! Of course! People on the Northside, will purchase the condos on the Southside. Wait. People on the Northside DON'T COME TO THE SOUTHSIDE. It's scary down there! You should know, you lived there for a long time.

I'm just saying, seeing that the proposed site of the 2016 Olympics is Chicago, Chicagoans should have a vote. I'm hearing NO a lot more than YES. But then again, people like us don't live in Chicago anymore.

Best,

Justin

Should I Ride or Not?

That is the question if you live in the midwest. I'm talking about those bikes and mopeds we own in order to help environment, keep us in shape, and make us look like gangstas. The winters are nothing to fuck around with. The past couple winters in Milwaukee have ulgy, cold, and made me cry a couple of times. THESE WINTERS ARE TREACHEROUS! However, I chose to ride in the winter of 2008/2009 in the wonderful city of Milwaukee and boy, did I grow some hair in places that I didn't even know existed. I rode nearly everyday except for days of snow storms. Throughout the whole winter, I learned different ways to keep myself warm, such as gloves (2 or 3 pairs), a face mask, long underwear, and knowing where your destination is. I became more urgent about riding my bike; giving warning to whomever I was going to meet up with and making sure the destination was final (no pun). The riding in the winter was almost like a "two wheel mediation" because nobody was outside. You were nearly riding in a ghost town. The bikers I do idolize over myself myself are the bike couriers. These people were insane. Their 9-5 was to ride in every possible condition. The only day the riders did not ride was on the day the City of Milwaukee closed. If you think you are the best bicycle messenger out there, come and bike in Milwaukee for a year. This will really show who is boss. But you what would really make me happy? If you guys and girls could send an email to dispatch@breakawaybicycle.com and let them know OSCAR L PATTERSON needs to ride for you! I want to actually experience the terrible winter Milwaukee has to offer. YES, I WANT TO GROW SOME MORE HAIR! Do this for me and I will love you for ever. ALL OF YOU! Parks, Housing, and Cultural centers. For those of you who have been on the Bay Bridge, the initial reaction might be, "Wow! Thats pretty high from the ground to do something like that!" They have it all planned out nicely. Here is a copy of their proposal, which is dubbed, The Bay Line. Some might believe this is REVOLUTIONARY and cannot be accomplished, but we have seen bridges turned into homes many years ago with the progression Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. We have also witnessed green space and parks established on bridges in recent history with the erection of The High Line Basically, it was unofficially dedicated to everybody who chooses not to sell dope but loves smoking that good stuff. Also to those who want to just want to be plan happy without "stabbing" anybody in the back. One track on his new album called "Pursuit of Happiness" featuring MGMT and Ratatat is what I feel a lot of my friends are going through now. We just truly want to be happy but somehow, someway always comes in the way. We all want to listen to others but living independently starts with paving our own road. In order to dream, you must be independent or you're living in another person's shoes, which never smells right. If you fall, you already know how to get back up, we just have to make sure we don't make that mistake again. This is the also the time in our lives where people start to stop dreaming, stop asking 'what if,' and start pursuing happiness. The message of this blog entry is to enlighten all of my friends who want or need to make their dreams come true. Nike says 'Just Do It;' I say 'Make It Happen.' Please smile.

Brain Fart Gone Right: America's Next Top Propsed Legislation

With last weeks instance between Taylor Swift and Kanye West taking media precedent over Congressman Joe Wilson calling President Barack Obama, it is very evident pop culture is the most important thing in American's lives. Who wants to hear and read about the nation's current events? They are so dark and dismal. We should be watching something that applies to our lives a little more than the news, like Real World/Road Rules Challenge. If I don't watch stuff like this, I can't tell people how I should be on shows like the Real World, because I could definitely see myself partying on the same level as them or which roommates I would be hooking up with if I was there. This makes me a little worried about the future of our country. The majority of the people care more about what Kim Kardashian and her drunk ass sisters are doing rather than having the slightest interest about Health Care reform and the implications it will have on us and our families for years to come.

How do we encourage people to care about real current events and civic issues? Deliver it to them in a medium which they enjoy taking information from: reality TV. No, I'm not talking about Real World: Capitol Hill, I mean, c'mon, this isn't the Clinton Administration. Plus, there is something similar to this already, it's called CSPAN. I'm doubtful CSPAN average viewer age is our target market. We can form somewhat of a hybrid reality TV show. One that takes some kind of skill or talent, such as American Idol or America's Best Dance Crew (Goooo Afroborike!) Enter my idea: AMERICA'S NEXT TOP PROPOSED LEGISLATION (ANTPS).

It would work exactly like most of these reality game shows which hold auditions in all of the major metropolitan areas and pick the most worthy candidates for the show. My guess is that there probably will not be as many contestants as something like The Real World, where you need absolutely no skill whatsoever. The size would be more comprable to something such as Top Chef or America's Got Talent. Plus, an outtakes episode would definitely need to happen. I'm sure people would love to see some of the proposals from America's most liberal, conservative, and ultra-radical. Do we need drama? Nothing spells drama like politics. People protest for politics. I don't think I have ever seen a protest to stop taping Spencer and Heidi on the Hills. And the icing on the cake would be the judges. You always need a trio of judges. ANTPS can hit everyone with the obvious star power such as Obama, Biden, and Pelosi. But that is not the "way of the reality show" Most judges have no clue what they are doing and just make funny gestures (George Bush?) while the knowledgable judges give their honest feedback (i.e. Shane Sparks yelling SWAGGG and ya'll KILTT IT!,Lil Mama making no sense, while JC gives honest feedback or Paula wiggin out, and Simon hating life, while Randy is talking). Not only would America's Next Top Proposed Legislation be funny , it will also show viewers how politics can be just as fun and informative as Reality TV! Oh yea, and after a contestant is eliminitated, they have to walk it out!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; To celebrate the day of my good friend's day of independence, I am going to talk about "Bridget's Sexiest Beaches." Alright, I have come to notice that there will be an infinite number of reality shows. And I also know know anybody can basically get a show (P.Diddy - 3 shows, Eddie Griffin - "Going for Broke", "Snoop" from the wire - has a show in the works, "Cribs" now features rich ass kids talking about their parents shit). Back to Bridget's Show, where she talks about lying on a beach and doing nothing. I really do not see any profit, any meaning, any justice in this show. I guess the Travel Network is trying to reach to all demographics but can we have some dignity when we're trying to become cultured? So to everybody who is going out tonight, drink to the Travel Network so they can realize the mistake they are making. If you need an example of a network that totally went into the wrong direction, just look at MTV - hella Reality (SIKE!)

Your (2nd) Favorite Mexican: Kid Cudi

Today is September 16, 2009. Who knows what direction this blog will go to but I do know this will be fun. Anything new in my life is a new chapter. The difference between myself and a book is the lack of being bounded in my life. I don't live my to one quote or after a person's accomplishments. I do what I need to get by and to make myself happy. In this day in age, we value our youth and the energy they bring to planet Earth. They are willing to stand, side by side, with the less fortunate and become one of their peers by choice, to understand the struggle this community of people endure. But are we, the youth, doing the right thing to understand them? Do we need to live at unlivable wages to understand what unlivable really feels like? Yes, by living at unlivable wages, we do learn to feel what unlivable feels like, but is unlivable the problem? Or is negligence the problem? Is negligence aversive racism? Race, religion, or gender cannot be duplicated by any means. You can tan as much as you want, become an expatriate, or simply spend a day outside of your comfort zone. You will never duplicate the genuine feeling of negligence. We believe we can counteract negligence with community organizing. Then how do we build acceptance of communities outside of your community. Tolerance. Tolerance is the golden ticket.

Beer + Politics

I sometimes look back at college and laugh to myself how serious I treated certain tasks: workout, job search, party, drinking games. Drinking games? Yes, drinking games!

There is nothing wrong with college students drinking. Absolutely nothing! I will stand by that statement till/if prohibition is back into effect in this country (and probably after that also.) There are probably some people who are reading this thinking, "Well look who's talking? This is Justin, he had his fair share of enjoyable drunk nights in college." And yes, you are right, I did, and I would never take back those nights (most of them).

Some would say drinking is ruining our future leaders of tomorrow. I would not agree with that statement. But I would not fully disagree either. It is not the drinking which is ruining our future leaders of the world, it is the DRINKING GAMES that are ruining these future leaders. Drinking games, coupled with the individualistic ideology found right here in the United States of America have caused casual college socialization into a "rat race" of who can be the drunkest person in the world at one specific moment.

The individualistic ideology has trickled down from our government, to our school systems, to our youth. The reason college kids get so drunk is because "traditional university" takes four years. I felt like a bad student and a slacker because I stayed for summer classes after I "graduated". Why do "traditional" college students graduate college in four years? To go chase their paper dreams? Since students want to get out of college and make money, they bust their ass to graduate in four years, and since they bust their ass to graduate in four years, they drink habitually with all of their friends and bitch about how stressful school is. Drinking alone, is just a big "no no" so students figure out different ways to socially drink. Drinking games have been the end result. Drinking games result in pure intoxication. I mean WASTED, DRUNK, HAMMERED, SHIT-FACED, whatever you like to call it. Why? Because there are no guidelines! There are no guidlines on how much a person has to drink. Sure, during the game, participants yell and drunkenly laugh and say things like " ooohh, drink 10!" or, " you are gonna get sooooo hammered after Tim gives you six! And don't cheat, drink all six dude!!" Excuse me???? What the hell is SIX!! Hate to say it people, but we are not stopping drinking games from happening. Like anything else, we need to create a curriculum.

For everyone reading, this is a call to action. We must not just sit around and be idle about drinking game ambiguity. It is not relative. Youth in America, lets be proactive!. We need to create a rubric to determine exactly what "two" or "ten" really is. I have a dream that people will know what "six" really represents! Just like people realize, "Hey, this ruler is a foot long, therefore this ruler is 12 inches!" Because a 12 inches equals one foot, I want drinkers to say, "drink two, that means drink (blank) amount of your beverage" because "(blank) amount equals drink two"

Lets cut down on making asses out of ourselves ladies and gentleman. That includes me too. Also, when in doubt, just dance!

That is my dream.

Justin

J.E.T.S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!!

<a href='http://www.comedycentral.com' target='_blank' style='display:inline; This is a 9 percent dip from 76 percent that was recorded in early February. I just wanted to humor readers with this little piece of information because it is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT! Today's date is February 20, 2009. Barack Obama was elected into office on January 20, 2009. No one should be judged on one month of work. Obama has been 'out and about' working at passing The Stimulus Bill. Citizens need to realize the money which is being allocated to government programs is to help us, not hurt us. Then again, this country has been controlled by private businesses for so long we forgot what it is like to have government work for the people, rather than, for the dollar. But, going back to the point, people who liked Obama before, still like Obama, people who hated Obama before, still hate Obama. House and Senate Democrats still support Obama and House and Senate Elephants still don't support Obama as seen in the stimulus bill vote. This is totally beyond the point! Every job I have worked has had a 90-day evaluation.
